Hard Drive Corrupt

As of the writing of this article, it is nearing midnight, thus this will not occur on April 3rd...

Before I get started, here's a screenshot of me and a friend playing the Quake II modification "SOG". It's similar to an id Software crossover based on "Generations," which had the same concept, but id Software eventually threatened legal action against the makers of Generations, resulting in the modification's development being stopped. I used to have the original screenshot, but *I'll get to that later in this article*, I still had the screenshot from my Twitter.

For nostalgia's sake, I had Windows XP running on a separate hard drive on my primary computer yesterday! Up until the drive finally died, it was enjoyable. Basically, I was  playing through DM-Liandri in Unreal Tournament singleplayer when all of a sudden, I encountered a Blue Screen of Death.

When I attempted to reset the computer so that Windows XP would boot again, the BIOS informed me that no boot drive existed and instructed me to restart the device. I entered the boot menu and discovered that Windows XP was not detecting the HDD at all. The fact that it's an outdated Samsung hard drive from an outdated HP Touchsmart doesn't even help.

I could have used a second spare hard drive, but I'm not sure whether it would be any good. whether I had wanted a second hard drive, I could have just spent the money on a cheap SSD. Indeed, this is being written on my Windows 10 partition. Unfortunately, a dead hard drive ended my Windows XP nostalgia trip before it could get very far.

That concludes this post; perhaps I will have more to share in the future.
